You Never Have to Feel Alone

Were you shocked when you discovered you were unexpectedly pregnant? We get it. An unplanned pregnancy fills you with emotion. Questions race through your mind: “How could this have happened?” “I thought we were being careful?” “Now, what am I going to do?” “I can’t tell my parents!”

We want to encourage you to take a deep breath. It will be okay. We recommend you take the following steps:

Confirm Your Pregnancy

Visiting your healthcare provider or a pregnancy health center is vital. You need to confirm your pregnancy with another test and an ultrasound. Why ultrasound? Experts estimate as many as 26% of all pregnancies end in a natural miscarriage, and most occur within the first 12 weeks.

An ultrasound detects if your pregnancy is developing or if you have miscarried. It also determines how far along you are and if it’s located safely in your uterus. If it’s not in your uterus, it could be a life-threatening health issue.

Learn About All of Your Options:

Once you’ve confirmed your pregnancy, it is time to learn about your options. You have three: place your child for adoption, have an abortion, or choose to parent. The team at Antioch Adoptions can review your options with you. We will give you the facts accurately so that you can make the best choice for you and your baby. No matter what you decide, we are here for you.

Placing Your Child for Adoption

Today’s adoption process is very different from a few decades ago. Now, the birth parents choose the family to raise their child. You have control over the future you hope your child will have. By working with Antioch Adoptions, you will have an advocate in your corner every step of the way. All our fees are provided free, and your information remains confidential until you are ready to share it.

Having an Abortion

An abortion is a serious medical procedure. You have the right to know about the physical and emotional risks that are possible with either a surgical procedure or by using abortion drugs. While we do not refer to any abortion clinic, we do encourage you to speak with your physician regarding the various methods, side effects, and potential complications.

Choosing to Parent

Your third option is to parent your child. We believe that just because your pregnancy was unplanned, it doesn’t mean it is impossible to parent. Parenthood takes determination and a lot of love, but it is possible. We can talk with you about your situation, what support systems you have in place, and which ones you will need.
